The dream that started the River Arts Clay Studio in January 2018 was to create an approachable, supportive studio for people to learn, work independently, and grow community through working with clay. A place for people to feel at home, encourage and inspire each other.

This winter, Music and Movement is broadcasting LIVE on Facebook. Tune in the first Saturday of every month to sing songs and move to music. Each month will be hosted by musicians and performers from the show Blue Man Group.

Each month we’ll take a look at some of our favorite ceramic artists, talk about a clay technique, and attempt to complete a clay studio challenge. Inspired by the Great Pottery Throwdown, we’ll spin the wheel of chance to see if we can throw blindfolded, make a 2-minute teapot or put a handle on a mug with only one hand!

Art is not just painting or drawing. It is music, dance, exhibits, cooking, three dimensional projects, community sharing experiences and more. Many people have never had the opportunity to be exposed to the arts, River Arts is very accessible. It has a warm and welcoming presence the moment you walk through the door.
