April meeting: Thursday Apr 16, 6:00PM at River Arts

We’re excited to announce a new exhibit of photographs by Nan Carle Beauregard at the Capstone Community Action Hub building. We hope you’ll stop by next time you’re in town to enjoy this wonderful exhibit highlighting the history of the Granite Industry in Vermont.

Start your engines for this trip down memory lane in Road Trip, the latest collection of photography from the mind of Kent Shaw. Kent is a local photographer and digital artist living in Elmore, VT with a love for the technical production in photography where he makes composite images, often based on model cars.

The Listening Outside the Lines project is a hard one to describe without witnessing it. This is the first time that River Arts has attempted to present a multimedia presentation. Oral histories use the QR technology to share audio links that lead to a person's story of their experience in Vermont. Along with each recording is a portrait of the person. The connecting thread of these oral stories are that the narrators all identify at People of the Global Majority (PGM), more widely known by the acronym BIPOC. These stories are profoundly personal and humbling to listen to.

River Arts presents two exhibitions Listening Outside the Lines on display in the Folley Hall Gallery and Women and Girls; Paintings by Kathy Black from January 20th till April 9th, 2022. An artist talk and opening reception will be held with limited capacity on Thursday, January 27th from 5:30PM to 7:30PM.

The Morrisville Post Office exhibit is up and will be on display through January 15. Stop in and take a look when you mail all those holiday cards you've been meaning to get to!

The first stop of the traveling installation opened Friday, November 19th in the Red Mill Gallery at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson. Preview this exhibition which will be coming to River Arts in January 2022!

In celebration of April Poetry Month, the River Arts Poetry Clinic is displaying an exhibition of poetry at the Morristown Post Office from late April till early June.

The River Arts Gallery Committee is currently accepting art submissions until June 1st, 2021 for the January 2022-June 2022 calendar.

River Arts presents the annual juried spring show for the Vermont Watercolor Society. New Beginnings displays an exemplar celebration of the watercolor and is on display in both the Folley Hall Gallery and the Copley Common Room.
