Build iconic monsters with Abby O’Sullivan, a professional costume designer and artist whose work brings unforgettable characters to life in film and performance (The Exorcist, Sinister, Dark Harvest). She specializes in sculpting, character design, and wearable construction, combining professional expertise with a hands-on, approachable teaching style. In this class, Abby guides students to create papier-mâché masques and costumes that are expressive, dynamic, and fully realized—ready for display or performance.
Focus: Character design, papier-mâché construction, and costume detailing

• Sketchbook/notebook
• Any recyclables or fabric scraps they want to include
• Clothes/aprons they don’t mind getting messy
Abbyanne Osullivan
Abby O’Sullivan is an American-born Costume Designer and artist who began her career creating designs for performing artists, showcased at The BOX NYC, before transitioning into film Costume Design with the Oscar-nominated Frozen River.
Her film credits include Sinister, Dark Harvest (MGM), A24’s Mississippi Grind.
The Map of Tiny Perfect Things, and Gifted for FilmNation Entertainment.
Abby's work has been featured at festivals such as Sundance, the Independent Spirit Awards, and the Academy Awards.
In addition to her film work, Abby is an accomplished fine artist, specializing in textile and fiber arts.
