Explore the playful side of needle felting with a focus on mixed-media creativity! In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn how to blend wool with unexpected materials—such as rocks, feathers, buttons, wood, and more—to create striking textures and sculptural effects.
You’ll be guided through the basics of webbing and felting objects into wool, discovering how different elements interact to form unique, eye-catching designs. By the end of the session, you’ll walk away with a one-of-a-kind mixed-media felted piece and the confidence to continue experimenting on your own.

Carmella Cyr is a Vermont-based artist, instructor, and author with over 30 years of experience guiding adult learners—15+ of those dedicated to the arts. Known for her eclectic and eco-conscious approach, she specializes in historical and cultural fiber arts including Boro-Sashiko, Kiwandi, crochet, needle-felting, yo-yo quilting, and junk journaling. Carmella brings creativity, care, and a deep love for recycled materials to every workshop she leads, aiming to inspire makers of all levels to explore meaningful, sustainable art.
