Meet The Instructor!
Like many people, Gillian first tried ceramics as a kid at summer camp. Years later, she received a BA in studio art from Dartmouth College. She spent several years managing projects for nonprofits, focusing on community-based economic development in the U.S. and overseas. Having lived in Morocco, Togo, and Chad, she is particularly interested in the diverse traditions of functional arts, like pottery, that are found around the globe. Gillian now lives in East Hardwick and spends her time farming, cooking, and teaching heritage arts programs. She’s been a member of the River Arts studio for several years and values its strong community.
